Russia intercepts 3 Ukrainian military vessels in Black Sea
MOSCOW/SIMFEROPOL, Nov 26 (PRIME) -- Russia’s Federal Security Service has intercepted three Ukrainian military ships in the Black Sea, an official told PRIME on Monday.
The vessels crossed the Russian border, while entering the Kerch-Yeni-Kale channel out of schedule, and made dangerous maneuvers, the official said.
“We had to use weapons in order to stop the ships. All three ships of the Ukrainian navy in the Russian waters in the Black Sea were stopped as a result. Medical assistance was provided to three wounded members of the Ukrainian military personnel. There is no threat to their lives,” the official said.
Two armored artillery boats of the Gurza class later approached the Russian border from the Ukrainian side.
Earlier in 2018, the Ukrainian authorities intercepted the Russian trawler Nord and the tanker Mekhanik Pogodin. Russia applied counter-measures.
